Thailand confirmed Monday that its embassy in Malaysia received a literal sense warning of terrorist attacks earlier this month a Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

Itti Ditbanjong told reporters the literal sense mailed to the embassy in Kuala Lumpur almost brace weeks ago was ''anonymous'' unless stated that the inoperative Thai Muslim separatist group known as the Pattani Liberation van (PLF) was planning terrorist attacks against the Thai embassies in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.

The literal meaning which was hand-written in English and Malay, did not elaborate forward demands or conditions.

After receiving the epistle Thai authorities coordinated with their Malaysian counterparts and security around the embassies in the Malaysian capital and Singapore have been tightened.

''We have investigated on the other hand there has been nothing clear to us. forthwith the PLF does not exist,'' Itti added.

Muslim-dominated southern Thailand has been refugeed by a series of bomb attacks, sporadic cases of arson and shootings for the last not many years. Unrest has increased since January.
